Ayurveda means 'science of life' and is the ancient holistic system of health from India which as been practiced for over 5000 years. Ayurvedic principles have influenced the development of Chinese, Greek and other traditional medical systems. Ayurveda is a complete way of life and views illness as caused by an imbalance in a person's physical or mental constitution.
Ayurvedic consultations and treatments involve establishing an individual's constitution and the nature of any imbalance and then seeking to return the individual's body to a state of health balance. Treatment can include nutritional advice for doshas, advice on lifestyle practises, herbal remedies and specific exercise. |
